As I write this blog, my soul is deeply grieved and there is also a strong frustration. For many years, I have had the privilege of living a life inside politics. This has afforded me the opportunity to meet many different people and organizations. While attending some of their conferences, luncheons, dinners as a guest I would hear their passion. There were those I agreed with and others I didn’t.
Some of these groups are religious, many are Christian and they come with many different beliefs and personalities. Sometimes these groups would come together for a common cause. I remember the years when pro-life Christians would protest abortion clinics. Many would bring signs that simply said, ‘I’m Pro Life’ and have a picture of a baby on it. Others would say ‘Killing is a Sin, God hates Sin’ and some would call for murdering those who provide abortions.
In the last few years there have been many protests against homosexuality, and the same kind of signs were made. There have been people who live in this lifestyle beaten and killed in the name of God. All one has to do is to google
this subject to find articles about this.
In recent days a YouTube video titled “Arab International Festival 2012” has been circulating . Many of you know that I have been following the growth of Islam and specifically fundamentalist Islam in America and you have seen my presentations. As with the Christian groups I have met, Islam also has Muslims who are not observant, are conservative and peace loving, and then there are those who are radical.. It is these radical Muslims that I am concerned about. After watching the raw version of this video, I knew I needed to speak up.
Many people and organizations are using this video to promote their agenda and raise money. People are focusing on the response from muslim youth, but what actually caused them to begin yelling profanities and throwing water bottles?
Could it be that a group of Christians came to their annual festival, wearing t-shirts and carrying signs that say; “He that believeth not shall be damned” “Drunkkards Whoremongers, Idolaters, Fornicators shall not inherit the Kingdom. Or could it be the statements being made by members of the Christian group saying “Repent, your party will end in the lake of fire”, “Your prophet married a 7 year old, he is a pedophile”.
If you watch the raw footage closely, you will see at the beginning, no one was paying attention to them, but soon a group gathers. Some walk away and others begin to get angry. Again, I wish to state, that I am not a sympathizer for radical Islam but in my opinion this group of Christians came to a public event with the intent to provoke their enemies.
What grieved my soul so deeply is the fact that they used the name of Jesus to do this. It is frustrating to see this knowing that innocent people could be hurt because of later retaliations by those muslims who are radical.
At one point, one of the Christian men says, there is no Synagogue but Jesus is the Synagogue. This will only bring greater hatred for my Jewish friends and this is a very ignorant statement. One of the men is wearing a T-shirt with Hebrew writing on the back. It is not important what is written, why Hebrew? This will only cause more hatred.
Christians, living a quiet life around the Arab world are being killed because they are not converting. Meanwhile, here some Christians are provoking the enemy. The police were correct in escorting this group away from the scene. Yes, the muslim youth acted in a very violent way. Sadly, this is their nature and I hope they are arrested.
Today, abortion protests are gone for the most part because some Christians finally realized that to stop abortion you must be willing to help the young girls who are sexually active. According to some of the pro-life groups, research is beginning to show that abortion rates are beginning to decline. What would have happened if these same Christians had worn regular clothes, and went in to the Muslim event with cameras and filmed what takes place, interviewed some of the muslims and show the growth in population. Instead of trying to anger them?
If they truly care about their soul, then why would you want to make someone feel condemned? G-d is slow to anger and abounding in love. If they are claiming to be followers of Jesus then I wonder what he would have to say to them. Some of the famous words I remember reading are “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:43 NIV
Is there any wonder that the world looks at Christianity and turns away?
I spend a lot of time in Israel, and I am always amazed at how in this tiny country, Jews, Arabs and Christians live side by side. Israel is no bigger than the state of New Jersey. In this tiny country I see Jews and Arabs working together, sharing the parks, beaches and nature reserves together. There are Arab doctors and nurses working in Israeli hospitals, and most of the major shopping chains. Yes there are unprovoked attacks by muslims on innocent Jews. Rock throwing in East Jerusalem and the Shomron area’s, invaders who murder, and rocket attacks from Gaza. Yet there is a general feeling of co-existence that pervades the country.
However, the Israeli’s do know what is going on in the world and especially with Radical Islam. No one is burying their head in the sand and hoping that the problem will go away, because it won’t.
I believe many Christians should take a lesson from the Jews who know their neighbors better than anyone. We must learn and understand what this so called religion of Radical Islam is all about. Their plan for our world and the great persecution that will come if we do not learn quickly and act correctly.
Finally, I need to ask, what would this Christian group do if Muslims, Gays or any other group they oppose, were to come to one of there events with Signs and a Megaphone? I’m sure you would get angry and engage them, others would call the police and have them escorted away.
I know there are many Christians who do not partake in this kind of provocation, I urge those who partook in the event to consider your own soul desires. Instead of provoking trouble, educate the average American about the growing threat and how it can effect our laws and nation.
Please, consider how these kind of actions can have a harmful impact on innocent US lives. I ask all caring and compassionate Christians to ask yourselves if this is the image we want the world to see. The image of provocateurs? I am almost certain not.
I believe its time to do some real soul searching. To search for a true and just way of taking America back.
