I’ll Pray About It

I WOULD LOVE TO GO TO ISRAEL, I’LL PRAY ABOUT IT

Our first trip to Israel ~ Sally Clarno, Tani Zarelli w/ Tani's friend from Israel Lea Magen.

Frequently I hear the statement, “I would love to go to Israel, I’ll pray about it.” Now don’t misunderstand me, I’m a woman of prayer and I believe in the power of it, but every time I hear this I’m thinking,  ’wow coming to Israel is like being invited to God’s house for dinner what’s to pray about?

Then comes the next set of thoughts. The world started in the Middle East, sin ends in the Middle East. God carved out a piece of land, set its borders, chose a man named Abraham to be the one He would create a people from which He calls the Apple of His eye, His Chosen Ones. He wrote the word on tablets and commissioned this people to take it to the nations. He personally led them to the land and His Glory filled the temple. He created a child born to a Jewish mother and raised by a Jewish father.  He called him Yeshua ( his hebrew name).  Yeshua (Jesus, in english ) played like any other child and sat with the Rabbi’s in synagogue’s, he later traveled to a region where Rabbi’s didn’t go because it was to far from the Temple. He taught in a synagogue and traveled back and forth to Jerusalem. One day Messiah will return and reign as King and God’s Glory will once again fill the temple.

Then I ask myself, why would one pray about going to visit God’s home?

Do we pray about going to church?

In regard to going to Israel, it has been my experience that it is good to pray, if finances are very tight.  Yes 4-5K  is a large chunk of cash to let go of at once, but this is the only investment you will make with a guaranteed return on investment. (Genesis 12:3) If you choose not to accept God’s invitation because you are not wanting to let go of that chunk, I’m here to tell you that it will be spent, slowly but surely on things where moth and rust destroy ( Matthew 6:19) .

Going to Israel is meeting with God on His turf! It’s amazing when you meet Him there.

Let me share some recent experiences of people who accepted God’s invitation when finances were tight.

A businessman who has been hit hard by this economy due of the type of business he’s in; While in Israel last year I saw a great business opportunity but it required the right U.S. businessman. This guy was it! I knew it when I met him.  Anyway, his financial situation was very tight to say the least. He had projects he needed to wrap up and finally, one night he said God, ‘I know you want me to come so I’m just doing it’. Now mind you, he had already been to Israel with his church but he knew God was calling him there again. Two days after he said yes, he met with a client who signed a contract and paid for half the costs up front. It not only covered his trip but gave him the ability to catch up on some outstanding bills. Today we are putting together a business partnership for him with an Israeli company.

A businessman who  became very successful in the building industry; Due to the downturn in this industry, he was now reduce to not having much, but he felt he needed to go to Israel. He had a word over his life but ignored it because of business. To him $5k meant a lot but he knew God was calling him. One night he called me and said I’m coming, here’s my debit card number. The very next morning he got a call from his attorney. This man had been going through an audit for 3 years. Had the best attorney working on it, but nothing could be resolved. They were wanting him to pay thousands. The attorney told him it was a miracle, the IRS settled and he was getting money back.

Another woman who husband is the major breadwinner in the family and she works part-time at a convenience store; At an event she heard me speaking and when I said “Come Away with me to Israel” felt like she needed to come. Went home and cried because she knew that their finances wouldn’t allow it. She to had been to Israel with a church group a few years earlier and tried to be content with that. The next day she shared with her husband about the meeting I spoke at.   A week or so later, her husband surprised her with a steak dinner in her back yard very romantic she said. Then presented her with a gift, a card telling her she was going to Israel. He had some funds he had been setting aside and knew he needed to send her. Both the people that joined me this time, who had been to Israel before said while those trips where good,  but this time they felt they met the Heart of Israel, the heart of God!  I can go on and on with real stories of people like this.  I stand in awe of it all!

I want to encourage you to join me in taking great steps of faith! This is God’s invitation for you to come to His home for dinner.  What will you answer?

In closing, I want to share a song that keeps me going when faith gets weary!  It’ my personal prayer I hope it will encourage you too.

Join me on an amazing trip to Israel this June 19th -30th!  You won’t be disappointed!

Tani, I love this article. I feel the same way. I have been to Israel twice in the last 3 years and both times I had no idea where the money would come from when I signed up. But each time God provided the funding. I told everyone that if God wanted me there (and I believed He did) then He would provide the money. Obviously He did and His timing was perfect. I can’t wait to go back.
